How to plant ginger?
Ginger is a plant that prefers warm and humid climates, but has poor tolerance to low temperatures and frost. It only begins to sprout when the temperature reaches 16 ℃ or above, and the optimal temperature range for seedling growth is between 20 ℃ and 25 ℃. When the temperature further rises to 25 ℃ to 28 ℃, the stem and leaf growth of ginger is most vigorous. However, once the temperature drops below 15 ℃, the growth of ginger will come to a halt. Therefore, in order to ensure the healthy growth and good development of ginger, suitable temperature conditions must be provided.

1. Cultivate strong buds
20 to 30 days before sowing, remove and thoroughly clean the ginger seeds, then air dry for 1 to 2 days, taking care to avoid direct sunlight. Carefully select ginger, choose healthy, pest free, hard textured, and brightly colored ginger chunks, and avoid using ginger chunks with soft, withered, or discolored flesh. During the germination period, control the temperature at 22 to 25 ℃ and maintain it for 20 to 25 days to ensure that the buds are thick and full, and pay attention to moisture and breathability.
2. Soil preparation and application of base fertilizer
Choose slightly acidic, breathable, and deep fertile soil to ensure good irrigation and drainage conditions. Apply sufficient base fertilizer, such as 750 to 1125 kg/ha of superphosphate plus 75 tons/ha of fully decomposed organic fertilizer, to ensure smooth and fine soil.

3. Field management
Shade: Ginger is not tolerant to strong light and high temperatures, so it needs to be shaded in a timely manner to maintain a shading rate of 60%. You can choose to cover it with a shading net or use bamboo poles to build a shading shed.
Fertilizer and water management: Water the bottom water thoroughly before sowing, maintain soil moisture of 65% to 70% during the seedling stage, water in the morning and evening in summer, and water once every 4 to 6 days after the beginning of autumn to maintain soil relative humidity of 75% to 80%.
4. Comprehensive management of pests and diseases
Ginger blast: the main disease, which is characterized by leaf withering, can be controlled by spray Jiangwenning, irrigating roots with Dixon, or spray Bacillus.
Anthrax and sheath blight: brown spots appear, and use Aimiao spray to control them, so as to enhance the resistance to disease.
Small pit tiger: It causes damage during the seedling stage and is controlled by irrigating with dichlorvos or phoxim.
Ginger moth: harm heart leaves, and use trichlorfon powder, dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrates or chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrates spray to control.

5. Timely harvest
Harvest before the first frost or at the beginning of autumn according to climatic conditions to ensure the quality of both planted and fresh ginger.
In summary, this is an introduction to some key points of ginger cultivation. Many regions in China have planted ginger, and there are also many types. You can refer to and learn from it according to your actual situation.
